Justice Chithrasiri says nothing to hide and hints at more ‘material’
By Shehan Chamika Silva
Chairman of the PCoI Justice K. T. Chithrasiri allowing Aloysius’, Palisena’s and Arjun Mahendran’s Counsel to get copies of the entire phone conversations in the PTL backup voice recordings without restrictions, said that there was nothing to hide in it.
The counsel who appeared on behalf of Mahendran, Aloysius and Palisena (PTL CEO) yesterday requested the Commission to make available the entirety of the backup voice recordings to them to prepare before their examination.
However, replying to the application, Justice Chitrasiri observed that there would be more important material before the Commission.
Justice Chitrasiri also said they were anxious to finish the proceedings soon but since there were new things coming up every day during the proceedings, they could not avoid such instances.
However, the Commission allowed the counsel to obtain the copies of four DVDs containing backup voice recordings of PTL’s voice logger system from the AG’s Department.
