Aloysius to challenge PCoI summons



Gamini Marapana PC will also appear for Aloysius to lead evidence

President’s Counsel Anuja Premaratne who was appearing on behalf of Arjun Aloysius today informed the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) that they will submit a legal submission on Monday (September 11) challenging the PCoI’s order of summoning Aloysius to give evidence before the Commission.

Mr. Premaratne made this statement when the Commission asked him to prepare an affidavit by Monday before his client, Aloysius gives evidence.

He said that there will be legal aspects before the Commission on Monday to re-consider the given order.

In order to prepare an affidavit, he sought the Commission’s indulgence till the conclusion of Aloysius’ interrogation by the CID.

Additional Solicitor General Dappula de Livera said that the recording of statements of Aloysius will probably be concluded by Sunday (September 10).

PC Premaratne said that President’s Counsel Gamini Marapana will also appear on behalf of Aloysius to lead evidence in addition to his representation.
